
The 1st Consortium Meeting of the BSB01005 “Cooperation through Tech-Based Practices to Struggle Invasive Species and Climate Change for a Sustainable and Resilient Agriculture (AGRICOOP)” project, supported under the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme and in which Ondokuz Mayıs University is among the partners, was held at the Trabzon Commodity Exchange between March 4-6, 2026.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kibar Ak, from the Hemp Research Institute of Ondokuz Mayıs University, represented the OMU at the meeting. Also present was Research Assistant Dr. from the Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Ondokuz Mayıs University. Furkan Harun Baş also attended the meeting.
In addition to the Trabzon Commodity Exchange, the project leader, the project teams and officials from Varna Economic Development Agency (VEDA) from Bulgaria and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (BSU) from Georgia also participated in the meeting.
Based on the “Clean and Green Region” approach, the project aims to strengthen adaptation to climate change, reduce disaster risks, increase resilience in agricultural production, and support ecosystem-based approaches.
The total budget of the BSB01005 AGRICOOP project is approximately €506,000, of which approximately €455,000 is financed by the program.
